Ten minutes of undivided attention

A practice with children of any age. What matters is that they choose what happens and you do not redirect.

How to do it

  1. Put your phone in another room.

  2. Tell your child you have ten minutes and they decide what you do.

  3. Follow their lead. No teaching, correcting or improving the game.

  4. When it ends, say plainly that you enjoyed it.

Attention is the part children remember. Ten honest minutes beats an hour of half-presence.

If you want to write something

What did they choose, and what did it tell you?
