7 Days of Gratitude

A week of paying closer attention to what is already holding your life up. A few minutes a day, nothing to keep up with.

  1. DAY 1

Day 1 — Something near you

Name one ordinary object you would genuinely miss. Notice why it never asks for your attention.

  2. DAY 2

    Day 2 — Someone's ordinary effort

Identify one person whose routine work made your day easier, and tell them today.

  3. DAY 3

    Day 3 — Your body

Name one thing your body did today without being asked. Stay with it a little longer than feels necessary.

  4. DAY 4

Day 4 — A difficult thing that passed

Recall something hard that is now over. You got through it, and you are unlikely to have given yourself credit.

  5. DAY 5

    Day 5 — A place

Go somewhere nearby that you like and stay ten minutes longer than needed.

  6. DAY 6

Day 6 — Something you nearly missed

Look for one good thing today you would normally walk straight past.

  7. DAY 7

Day 7 — Say it out loud

Tell one person something you appreciate about them, plainly, without an occasion. Then the week is finished — there is nothing to maintain.

Your progress stays on this device. Nothing is counted, ranked or shared.
